A passionate and dedicated teacher, Emily is regularly invited to give masterclasses all over the world
Having taught at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague for eleven years (1996 – 2007) and the Conservatorium of Amsterdam for two years (1997 – 1999) Emily co-founded the Netherlands Flute Academy in 2009, together with business woman (and amateur flautist), Suzanne Wolff. Neflac offers inspiring flute events through the year lasting from the one day Turbo Academy to the week-long Summer Academy; all with experienced teachers and set in beautiful locations! Individual lessons, masterclasses, ensemble playing, technical clinics, workshops, flute orchestra and fun warm-up sessions!
Additionally, Emily is a visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music, London where she gives masterclasses several times a year.
She has given masterclasses at amongst others; Yale University, the Manhattan School of Music, the Mannes College of Music, the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique (Paris), Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón (Zaragoza, Spain), the Stockholm Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music, the Guildhall School of Music, Trinity College of Music, the Sydney Conservatorium, the Australian National Academy of Music, Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing, Korea National University of Arts, Seoul, the Kirishima Festival (Japan) etc…
