Emily is visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music, London and International Visiting Flute Tutor Cymru at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. She is a member of the faculty at Taipei Music Academy and Festival (TMAF)
She taught at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague for eleven years (1996 – 2007), the Conservatoire of Amsterdam for two years (1997 – 1999) and is regularly invited to give masterclasses all over the world. From 2009 – 2021, she was Artistic leader of the Netherlands Flute Academy.
She has given masterclasses at amongst others; Yale University, Manhattan School of Music, Mannes College of Music, Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique (Paris), Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón (Zaragoza, Spain), Stockholm Academy of Music, Oslo Academy of Music, Royal College of Music, Guildhall School of Music, Trinity College of Music, Sydney Conservatorium, Australian National Academy of Music, Beijing Central Conservatory of Music, Korea National University of Arts, Seoul, Kirishima Festival (Japan) and others…
